Multiport Laser Delivery and Distribution Devices
Multiple Outputs from a Single Source
With its own innovative and leading edge technologies,
Fibersense fabricates multiport laser distribution devices that
deliver an input signal from a single source/fiber simultaneously
to many outputs. In contrast with conventional (and generally
inefficient) fiber bundles and arrays, these advanced, entirely
integrated devices enjoy low loss, and allow for excellent and
repeatable power distribution, with a high degree of uniformity.
The multiple delivery outputs provide a versatile
and many-faceted approach to the treatment or target site, since
the individual outputs can be positioned exactly as required,
to maximum advantage and effect. This approach greatly reduces
the duration of tests and procedures since multiple sites, targets
or samples can be treated at the same time. In investigational
medical procedures this also translates to a considerable reduction
in the stress and discomfort of the subject. The multiple outputs
also constitute a much more economic use of the laser source,
since wear and tear on the source is reduced and its effective
working life is prolonged.
Fibersense can fabricate these devices with
virtually any fiber type, fiber diameter and wavelength compatibility,
with Numerical Apertures and power -handling capabilities to
meet all biophotonic laser delivery requirements. A wide variety
of termination, packaging and custom design options are offered.
FS-MPLD-Series
FEATURES:
Two (2) Input x Five (5) Output
Configuration, 400µ core, glass core/hard clad, high Numerical
Aperture Fiber. The main input lead is terminated in an SMA connector,
the second input is unterminated for use as an aiming-beam input,
for alignment help, or as a spare input.

Dual inputs, "Aiming Beam" Option
The dual input feature provides a second or subsidiary input
that can be utilized to deliver a useful marking or guiding beam
while the outputs are being positioned on the treatment/target
or sample site. When the optimum positions are located, the outputs
remain in place, undisturbed, while the aiming-beam input is
disconnected. The main power output is then engaged to carry
laser power at the full treatment or procedural strength.
Asymmetrical Option
i.e. Input and Outputs of differing fiber sizes.
Custom Fiber Option
Fibersense will supply devices with specialized fiber and customer-supplied
fiber.
" Detachable Delivery Lead Option
Box-enclosed and Rack-mount units can be supplied with box-mounted

High Power LED Combiners
Fibersense's High Power LED Combiners provide
an efficient means of combining individual, fiber-coupled LEDs
on to a single output fiber, thus producing a high power source
at relatively low cost.
Laser Diode/LED Fiber-coupled Multi-Wavelength Combiners
Fibersense's Multi-Wavelength Combiners
readily and efficiently combine multiple wavelengths from individual
Laser Diodes or LEDs on to a single output fiber.
The wavelengths can be utilized individually,
in sequence or in combination via the minimally invasive, shared
optical fiber output.
Applications include:
Experimental devices, instrumentation and systems
which utilize two or more LD/LED wavelengths for a variety of
tissue-penetration, fluorescence-stimulation and therapeutic
